# Equations

In the midst, of homeschooling the children are learning more about equations. Although, teaching them can be interesting to see what they can get right with working with the equations. Most people do not believe that we use equations in everything that we do in our life. We use equations for a variety of things. Telling time, distant from one place to another, cooking in the kitchen, plotting out a garden, and many other things.

Of course, the equations that we are working on are simple. However, if you are good with math these are not challenging enough. One of the equations we are working on today is

(3x^2y^6)^7
3^7(x^2)^7 (y^6)^7
2,187x^14y^42

Simple for those who understand math equations however, when you are teaching math equations you have to do it step by step for the children to learn the process of finding their answer without the help of a calculator.

3a^n (a^n + a^n-1)
3a^n × a^n + 3a^n × a^n-1
3a^2n + 3a^2n-1

Math can be fun, and easy to learn when you have the right person teaching you the ropes of the equations. Enjoying math is not easy for most people because they think they are always going to get the wrong answer. However, when you second guess yourself you will always get the answer wrong because of the second guessing.

# In the midst

Fellow readers I just realized that I have not posted anything since January of this year.  I am disappointed in myself for not posting anything. However, things are busy in my life that does not allow much time for anything else.  There are so many things in your life and sometimes you cannot control the situations that happen in your life.  I am always telling the children not to make excuses.  The problem is that with being a manager, and homeschooling there is not much time for anything else.

Priority number one is to make sure the children are getting the grades they should. Priority number two is to make sure I am focused at work to be the best manager I can be. Priority number three is to spend quality time with the family.  Writing is something that is for free time that I do not have much if anymore.  Therefore,  even if I only post once or twice a month from here on out that would be okay. I love to write however pressing matters come first. I know that people understand the importance of life and the things that we must do.

What is amazing is that people are still enjoying the articles that I have done over the years, and will enjoy them for  years to come.  As I move forward in my life with the new job and everything else I know that one day I will be able to put my writing abilities to work. One day I will be able to write when and where I want until that time I will post when I can.

Thanks

# To end “Pollination Week” …. Magnificent!!

Beautiful! I enjoy looking at nature and watching how animals, insects, and other wildlife act. In homeschooling the children we have learned about tons of different bugs, and insects throughout the year. It is always interesting to read what other people think about the beautiful wildlife that surrounds us on a daily basis.

The beauty of pollination … Moving Art by Louie Schartzberg!

Published on Dec 23, 2011

This video was shown at the TED conference in 2011, with scenes from “Wings of Life”, a film about the threat to essential pollinators that produce over a third of the food we eat.

The seductive love dance between flowers and pollinators sustains the fabric of life and is the mystical keystone event where the animal and plant worlds intersect that make the world go round.

“Wings of Life” will be released on DisneyNature on April 16 in time for Earth Day.

We ALL are ONE!! We ALL are connected by Nature!!

# Terrarium July 2012

The children had found two toads the other day, and decided to put them in the terrarium. They have named the toad Trevor, and trevrina. Dakota and Bryson went outside to capture some crickets and other bugs for the newest members of the family. Although the boys have collected bugs throughout the year and especially the pill bugs add up.over the months. With all

Cricket molting

research done throughout the year and quizzes taken to understand the life cycles of plants and animals of all kinds.

Centipedes, millipedes, pill bugs, praying mantids, spiders, and many other insects living in the terrarium throughout this project. Tha children have learned a ton of informarion about the different insects out in the world today. The first cocoon they found did not have anything in it and ended up decompossing within the soil. Since, the start of the terrarium project the children have enjoyed the part of finding new insects to watch, and monitor. Researching is the key to having a successful project.

Another successful project will be underway shortly. The children will learn how to take care of animals, grow a garden, and many other things next school year. Homeschooling is womderful to say the least. She enjoys every minute with her children and exploring new boundaries of topics.
