What are your Dreams?


Sometimes in your career you are asked to write down your dreams of what you want out of your life. It could be anything and be anything that you would want to happen in your life. It is a good question to ponder on when you get the chance to see what you would want out of your life. What would one of your dreams be to accomplish in this world. Well you know sitting here thinking about that question you find some answers that you probably would not have thought about before because honestly most people are working paycheck to paycheck with no balance in their life.

You know while she was sitting here writing about her dreams it dawned on her that most of her dreams have come true maybe a little later than she had hoped but they did come true. One of her dreams was to finish college and that happened in 2012 with a master’s degree. Another dream was to have her own home that she could call her own without having people tell her what she could or could not do. Some place where her and her family could settle down and make a life of their own. Well that happened in 2013 which was a blessing in itself.

With all the good things happening to her recently she did not know whether or not to believe that good things could happen because they have always struggled to make ends meet no matter what they situation. However, that was also about to change with all the other good things that have happened in the last year she was not looking for anything else. The job that she has wanted was just around the corner all she had to do was be persisent and go for what she wanted. Becoming a manager was the best thing that could have happened because now she does not have to struggle to make ends meet.

Now, a year later and she still loves her job to no end although there are struggles as with anything in the world of business. However, you have to overcome those struggles and pick the things that you want to go your way. You cannot win every fight but you can win some of the fights. It is a struggle to find that happy medium within the workplace. However, when you find that happy medium you should not do anything to desturb the changes that are going on.

Eventually, she wants to get to that point on where she wants to be within the next few years. She know that she wants to move up within the company and she knows that it will be a challenge to get where she wants to be within the company but she is determined to learn and eventually acheive the desired outcome that she seeks within this company. She knows that if she does the right things and shows how much she cares about the company things will work out in her favor. It is worth the wait so that she can learn all she needs to know before taking that next step into the upper business world.

Interview protocol


You know I do not have much experience in hiring people to work for a company.  However,  I know of that you should not wear certain things when you go on an interview.  You want to look professional so that you impress your future boss.  The first impression means everything because that  is the impression your boss is going to get of you.  You have to be confident and sure of yourself. 

The candidate will be asked numerous questions about themselves, their work ethic, their personality, and many other things.  You have to be sure of yourself,  and be proud of the things that you are proficient. You need to also keep in mind that you need to bring a resume because most places require you to be prepared if they ask about your previous employment.

You do not want to leave a bad impression on your future boss because you want to be hired for the position. You need to dress accordingly to show the employer that you mean business.  You have to care about how you look, speak, and act.

You do not want to show up for an interview wearing something that you would wear out with your friends to the club. This would lead the prospective employer wondering how you would dress when you arrive to start your first day.

In order to get the job you have to present yourself in a way that gets you the job. Confidence and punctuality are the key.  As well as being prepared with the right information that you will need.

Social Responsibility

All business’s have a social responsibility to their employee, executives, Board of Director’s, and stockholder’s. The business is also held accounted for the customer’s, suppliers, creditors, governments, unions, competitors, and the public as well. Everything that is done within the world today has channels to run through. An excellent example for this would be the company that I am working for now. Ruby Tuesday’s is known to be a bar and grill where customer’s can come to have a good time and enjoy their dinner or watch the games that happen to be playing that day. Ruby Tuesday’s is coming up to the gaming season but in the process they have made some changes to what type of image they want to set. Furthermore, if the company did not set standards they would not make a profit and would not keep customers if they do not live up to the promise that they make to the customers. Today I was serving an older couple and before they left, the woman said that she was very pleased with her experience with us today. She said that it was nice to go out and have a nice dining experience instead of the fast food. The whole point of being in business is to make an impact on the customer’s that come into your establishment. Finding out what your customers like and dislike is a great tool to understanding what they expect when shopping in your business. The mission statement of a company shows the customers that they are ready and willing to make them happy no matter what. “Social responsibility is a critical consideration for a company’s strategic decision makers since the mission statement must express how the company intends to contribute to the societies that sustain it” (Pearce & Robinson, 2004).

Change Management in the Business World


I think that change management is just exactly what it means. This is the person or people who supervise anything that happens within the business. Managers are put in place within the organization to make sure that things are running properly and things are going smoothly. Managers are responsible for everything that happens or does not happen within that business. Making sure that the employees are doing the job that they are supposed to be doing without question. If the management team is not doing their job then things are probably not being done the way that they should. In any business change management is important especially if the business is just starting up because if the management team is not supervising the changes that are being made to make sure that they are implemented in the right way then this will cause other problems for the business. Making sure that shifts are running smoothly and correctly is the main key to having a successful day. For example, when I was a relief manager for a company I managed on my boss’s day’s off so therefore, I was in charge of making sure that the bank deposits were done correctly, I had to make sure that all three shifts were covered, and I also had to make sure that the shift had what they needed to make it through the night. I have made mistakes and learned from them but if I had paid close attention to what I was doing in the first place I would not have made mistakes. But you have to learn from your mistakes and make sure that you do not make the same one over again.

Implementation Process


Several potential mistakes within the implementation process for small businesses. One of the first mistakes is not being able to put the business strategy in motion for the business. Secondly, by having the wrong people in the strategy process could mean that the strategy process implementation will go the wrong way. The implementing the strategy process might be overwhelming. By nominating a certain amount of people to implement the changes that are necessary to accomplish the goals and objectives the business needs. Many companies have this problem when they are able to create the best strategies but fail to implement them the right way. This may cause problems that will not allow the company to move forward until the strategies, which implement the right way. In my opinion, the implementation process is the most important part however; this is the strategy process to make sure things run smoothly within the business by implementing the right strategic plan. If the company has the wrong people involved with, the implementation process will cause problems with making sure that the implementation of the strategy process is a success. One of the ways to avoid this is to have a certain amount of people working on the implementation process in identifying the short-term goals/objectives, communicating policies that will empower the company staff by keeping the company on the right path for success, and by designing rewards that will ensure that the company has effective results. Keeping the staff motivated in the success of the company and themselves. If the company does not have any type of motivational payoff for their employee’s they are not going to be willing to make the effort in making the company a success.
