You know the best part of gardening is reaping the benefits from what you grow. This year we had a garden full of a variety of peppers, collards, turnips, cucumbers, onions, squash, tomatoes, radishes, broccoli, and lettuce. Of course, we did them at different times during the year. Our first garden was tomatoes, cucumbers, a variety of peppers, and squash. Although, our pepper’s produced more than enough for us we canned quite a few of them for use throughout the year.
Some of the things that we made this year was pepper jelly, hot sauce, sliced jalapenos, and with the variety of peppers that we had throughout the summer months. It was nice to go out to the garden and pick the things that you want to use in taco’s, fajita’s, meatloaf or anything that you want to cook. Depending on your taste buds at the time and what you are having.
Our winter garden included collards, turnips, broccoli, onions, radishes, lettuce, and spinach. Although our spinach did not turn out that well and did not produce as much as we would like. It was so nice to be able to can some things that we like to eat and use the items that we planted this year.
